Casual Part Time Chef, NLA at The City Centre

£12.50 (+ holiday pay) per hour, minimum 3-hour shift.

NLA is looking for talented chefs to join our events team, on a part time / casual agreement, to support in the delivery of a dynamic and unique catering experience for a full range of inhouse events. All taking place from our own fully equipped kitchen at The City Centre, 80 Basinghall Street, London, EC2V 5AG.

Hours of work will be flexible and distributed on a monthly and weekly basis.


The City Centre, an outpost of New London Architecture (NLA), is the place to come to learn about and debate the built environment of the Square Mile and home to the City of London’s official architectural model.

NLA is London’s leading independent forum for discussion, debate and information about architecture, planning, development, and construction in the capital. The core mission of NLA is to bring people together to shape a better city. We are a hard-working and sociable team based in central London, with offices on Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, Basinghall Street, The City and Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, with interactive models of Central London and the City, for events and public engagement.


We are looking for a team of part time chefs who can lead and support on the catering requirements of the various events organised and held at the City Centre through our year-round programme of events and a range of corporate private events.

Being a Chef at NLA, you will be an exceptional team player and have a passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience. You will be an excellent and confident communicator and have a passion for food to ensure a fantastic catered experience at any NLA event.

Main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

* Managing the food and beverage provision for functions and events.
* Supervision of catering staff at functions
* Maintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as required
* Planning Menus in consultation with our Events Manager.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

* A catering and hospitality background based in hotels, Museums, B&I or education sector.
* Food hygiene certification
