New London Architecture

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Apply here
New London Architecture (NLA) is looking for an exceptional coordinator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone to craft their skillset in a variety of marketing and communications tasks, working as a key member in a close team on a variety of creative and interesting activities.

What is NLA?

New London Architecture (NLA) is London’s centre for excellence for the built environment. Our purpose is to make London a better place to live, work and visit.

We explore the built environment and bring the industry together, encouraging debate, learnings and examination of buildings and all the spaces in-between. We do this through a busy year-round programme of research, events, festivals, exhibitions, publications, promoting debate and discussion about the future of cities.

Our fast-growing membership spans across public and private sectors, in London, UK and internationally, and we have two central London public exhibition galleries both with giant interactive models of central London, where anyone can come to learn about future plans for London.

About the role:

We are looking for an organised and motivated coordinator to provide a critical level of support to the team across a wide range of tasks, particularly for the London Festival of Architecture (LFA), the New London Awards, press, and other key programmes. This is a great role for a talented writer and content creator.

You will work closely with multiple teams across the business; drafting of marketing content for digital and printed communications; and communicating progress internally in a timely and concise way.

NLA is proud to support flexible working in a relaxed and stimulating environment. We believe in giving our staff freedom and trust in order to bring out the best in them. You can work flexibly from our Farringdon office, one of our two central galleries (currently: the City of London and Westfield Stratford City), and from home.

Tasks include:

• Source, produce and plan engaging content to ensure all areas of NLA content such as news, blog and social media channels are up to date, relevant and interesting using the brand’s tone of voice.
• Write engaging, impactful SEO friendly content across all formats to improve the company’s organic reach, including but not limited to social media posts, press releases, blog articles and event descriptions.
• Support the marketing team with day-to-day initiatives, campaigns and forward planning.
• Manage updates to websites and third-party platforms such as Eventbrite.
• Work closely with key stakeholders from across the business to support on launches, events and publications.
• Shoot on mobile and edit photography and videography as applicable.
• Contribute to team brainstorms and generate ideas for content, brand initiatives and campaigns.
• Monitor and report on performance on social media channels and accounts.
• Follow and identify trends that are relevant to the built environment industry.
• Maintain and update relevant marketing documentation and databases.

What we are looking for:

You will be a creative self-starter with an interest in the key issues influencing London’s development and investment industries, as well as in London and its built environment more generally. This is a great role for a talented writer with an attention to detail. You will thrive in a fast-paced, stimulating environment, and share our team’s core values by always being informed, rigorous, collaborative and responsive in everything you do.

Required experience and skills:
• Strong copywriting skills, proofreading and attention to detail
• Experience of working on social media campaigns from conception to finish under a busy schedule
• Clear interest in the built environment, architecture and/or design
• Good knowledge base using Mailchimp
• Strong visual and communication skills
• Experience writing engaging content in long and short form
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive team player
• Enthusiastic and willing to undertake other tasks and learn new skills
• Work to tight deadlines with a can-do attitude.

Not essential, but appreciated:
• Experience working in the built environment sector
• Experience using Photoshop / In Design
• An understanding of how to apply SEO best practices
