Nik has worked as a town planner since 2006, beginning his career in the public sector with local authorities within and outside of London, before entering planning consultancy. His experience across the sectors means that he is particularly capable at understanding the implications of planning policy and legislative changes for developers and planning authorities alike. His exposure to and leadership of strategic scale development, regular attendance at public inquiries as an expert witness (for both sectors) and former role as a consultant Planning Inspector have provided him with a detailed knowledge of, and an enthusiasm for the mechanics of town planning. He is also interested in the role that the planning system plays in infrastructure delivery, and worked on HS2 on behalf of local authorities, and the increasing role being played by local authorities in partnership with the development sector in delivering new housing.
