Coming soon: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The research and publication will cover 30 years: 10 years of land assembly, remediation, planning, design, and construction in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games; 10 year period since the games (progress to date); and what is in store for the next 10 years at the Park.
The report will describe in greater detail the scale of change that has taken place in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park over the last 10 years. The publication will focus on the historical transformation of the Park in recent years, including the development of ODA/LLDC, the series of versions of the London Plan, and the transformation of neighbouring areas. Additionally, it will look at the social, economic, and environmental challenges of the next 5-10 years and the preparation to hand over planning powers to the local authorities in 2024.
Key messages in the report will focus on the achievements of the last decade in terms of development, planning and construction in the Park. The publication will communicate planners, built environment professionals and policy makers of the lessons we can learn and knowledge we can share from the success and the obstacles in development over the last decade.
