EDAROTH is a subsidiary of Atkins, a trusted partner to local and central government and one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project-management consultancies. EDAROTH brings together design and engineering expertise, the latest off-site manufacturing techniques and construction partnerships to deliver new houses at speed, volume and at a significantly reduced cost compared to traditional new builds.
At EDAROTH, we believe that everyone deserves a roof over their head. A home that people can value and take pride in. Scalable, high quality social housing has the potential to achieve this – and much more besides. When local authorities provide more, and better quality, social housing, they will also be generating stronger communities, improving economic security, and boosting aspiration.
The launch of EDAROTH in January 2020 marked the start of a new way of thinking for social housing. Unlocking under-utilised land and off-site manufactured housing, we offer a new approach to tackling the housing challenge. But it’s about more than simply closing the gap between supply and demand. It’s about the creation of truly affordable housing as part of sustainable, inclusive and happy communities.
Local authorities across the UK have long reported a severe shortage of housing stock. Meanwhile, under-utilised land sits dormant – often thought too expensive or too difficult to develop.
At EDAROTH it is our mission to have a meaningful impact on the housing crisis and support the replenishment and growth of social and affordable housing across the UK. We do this by developing innovative, council-owned homes on empty sites, previously deemed unsuitable for traditional development.
We do not aim to become landowners; instead we focus on under-utilised land developments, where clients, such as local authorities, typically retain freehold, supporting enduring outcomes that build prosperous and sustainable communities.
