Event adjustments and precautions in response to COVID-19

Friday 13 March 2020

The health and wellbeing of all our members are at the forefront of our decisions and we want to reassure you about the changes and precautions we are putting in place at our events.

The situation surrounding COVOID-19 is everchanging and we are monitoring news and guidance closely. With that in mind we are making some adjustments to our forthcoming events in the following ways:

FILMING / LIVE STREAMING

We are aware that not everyone will be able to join our events so to ensure that our subscribers and members can access event content and CPD without too much disruption for the next two months we will be  live-streaming the following event types:

Half-day conferences will be live-streamed. Access to the livestream will be given to anyone who has a ticket for the event. The link will be sent just before the event starts via email, the footage will also be accessible after the event via the same link.

Breakfast talks and evening seminars will be live-streamed. Access to the livestream will be listed on the event page and posted on our social media channels and will be available for everyone view. The footage will also be accessible after the event via the same link or by visiting our youtube channel.

SLI.DO

Audience participation is a key part of our events so we will be using sli.do to allow all registered attendees (in the room or viewing remotely) to submit questions during the event which will be put forward in the Q&A sessions. Sli.do also allows us to run live polls so keep an eye out for those too!

PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE / RECOMMENDED GUIDANCE

For events taking place at The Building Centre, all delegates will have access to handwashing facilities and there will be wall-mounted hand sanitisers located throughout the building. Cleaning support has been increased, with special attention to door handles/push plates and lift buttons.

We will also ensure similar standards/practices are in place for any of our events not hosted at the building centre.

In the interest of others, we kindly request that you should not attend any of our events if you are feeling at all unwell or have recently returned from any high-risk country. The latest government advice also states anyone with a fever or persistent cough should self isolate.

On arrival at The Building Centre, you will find handwashing facilities in the basement. We ask that you take a moment to wash your hands before the event – particularly if you have travelled by public transport.

We will be encouraging guests not to shake hands.

If you do attend any of our events we also recommend that everyone should follow basic personal hygiene guidance as stated on the NHS website:

Do:
  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • always wash your hands when you get to an event, get home or get into work
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
  • try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

Don't:
  • do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

TICKET CANCELLATIONS / NAME CHANGES

If you would like to cancel your ticket or change the details of the attendee, the following terms and conditions apply:

Ticket Cancellations
If you want to cancel a ticket to one of our events a full refund will be issued for cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the date of the event. A 50% refund will be available for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the date of the event. Thereafter no refunds will be made. To cancel a ticket please email info@newlondonarchitecture.org
