London Legacy Development Corporation

London Legacy Development Corporation

The London Legacy Development Corporation is responsible for the regeneration legacy from the London 2012 Games including overall responsibility for the Park, ownership of the permanent venues and development powers.
The Legacy Corporation has three main tasks:

· To transform the Park after the Games and re-open it as Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a new visitor destination from July 2013
· To develop the Park into a new place to live and work. Over the next 20 years we will build 8,000 new homes in five new neighbourhoods, with new schools, health centres, nurseries, playgrounds, shops, businesses and commercial districts
· To ensure that the benefits from the investment in the Park spread beyond its boundaries in the communities who live in the surrounding areas.
