Alison Messenger is a Registered Ergonomist with over 30 years experience.   Her belief is that our working and living environments should never cause harm.  As a resulted she worked for many years as an expert witness for work-related upper limb disorder and other postural personal injury cases.  Having seen first-hand the harm that can be done, Alison established Castle Ergonomics in 1995. The company seeks to improve the working environment by providing assessment, training and design assistance. Castle Ergonomics works with designers and inventors, providing enveloping, structured test procedures and assisting in finishing products for manufacture. She has been involved with the design of products from boat seating to child handrails.   In addition to running Castle Ergonomics, Alison has worked in Higher Education for the last 31 years teaching Ergonomics to Engineers, Product, Interior and Kitchen designers.  Her particular interests include anthropometrics, working posture, ageing and encouraging the understanding of the human body as part of the design system.  Designs need to be functional as well as looking amazing.
