Chris Newman has been with the company for over 15 years and has held a variety of roles in central plant, commercial heating, sales, project engineering and energy strategy.
He started in the HVAC industry as an apprentice Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer with Delta Environmental Services before moving to Mitsubishi Electric for four years as a Technical Support Engineer, where he created the Technical Support Helpdesk as we didn’t have one at the time. He then moved on to a role as Senior Technical Engineer for the Intelligent Comfort Group before re-joining Mitsubishi Electric.
When Chris re-joined the company he was on the sales side of the business rather than the aftersales side and has since been Pre-Sales engineer, Commercial Heating Business Development Manager, Heating Regional Sales Manager, Energy Strategy Specialist, Central Plant Sales Engineer and now Zero Carbon Design Manager.
Throughout his career, his interest in energy savings and carbon reduction has grown and Chris is now leading the industry in developing an approach that will help put the nation firmly on the road to Net Zero and the industry to grow from the opportunities that this presents. This includes the creation of a ‘Net Zero Roadshow’ for Mitsubishi Electric customers, which has now visited over 30 locations in the UK.
Chris also writes regular blogs for Mitsubishi Electric with his last being a dissection of the Chris Skidmore Report – Mission Zero.
