Emma is Head of Development at Places for London, Transport for London (TfL)’s property company. Emma leads on projects with significant land interface with Network Rail and boroughs - comprising multi-use town centre regeneration opportunities, which will enable the delivery of thousands of homes and integrated transport hubs.
Specialising in partnerships, Emma’s experience establishing and working in joint ventures with house builders, developers and housing associations has given her first-hand insight into making these projects a success. She also seeks to strengthen collaboration with development partners and other public sector bodies - for example championing an educational engagement programme to help improve the inclusivity and diversity of the built environment sector.
In the formation of Places for London, Emma established its Sustainability & Inclusivity strategy and team. As one of the capital’s largest landowners, Places for London needs to future-proof its existing commercial property portfolio, and wants continue to take a world-leading approach to building thousands of new, high-quality homes and offices - all the while helping create a greener, kinder and more connected London.
Emma joined TfL in 2016 as a Development Manager, after starting her career in the Planning & Development team at Gerald Eve, and subsequently managing a strategic land portfolio at the Church Commissioners. Her career path has given Emma a breadth of experience - across site assembly, planning and design, delivery, sustainability and business operations.
