Ernest joined Hopkins Architects in 1987 and was made a Director in 2002.
Ernest has led the design of several hospitals for Circle Health, the redesign of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and also been involved in several projects at Guy's and St Thomas’.
He has just completed the Pears Building, a world-class centre of excellence for research into immunity and transplantation for University College London at the Royal Free. The building is one of only five specialist immunology centres in the world and the only one outside the United States.
A member of Architects for Health and IHEEM presenter, his particular focus is on evidence-based and whole patient-orientated sustainable design, using both proven and innovative techniques to maximise choice.
