Marta leads Arup’s Digital Studio, a Strategic and User Experience design team in the UK, India, Middle East and Africa region, where she brings together her expertise in business innovation, digital design, sustainable development and architectural thinking.
The team works across various industries applying human-centred research and strategic design methodologies to shape innovative services and actionable strategies by bringing people to the core of the design process. Recent projects completed include designing a digital service to increase the flooding resilience of UK local communities, a digital visioning for a masterplan in Bucharest, a strategic framework to deliver a scalable community-led design process for water infrastructure in the UK and a new Augmented Reality application to better engage communities in designing sustainable streets. By piloting small while designing at scale, the team delivers breakthrough strategies and effective experience design solutions to the wicked problems of our built environment.
A strategist at heart, Marta is a designer with a background in architecture. While pursuing her MBA at London Business School, she specialised in digital business strategy gaining first-hand experience of how business models are evolving in response to the disruptive power of emerging technologies.
Prior to joining Arup, she co-founded two design companies, fuelled by her passion for reimagining spaces and cities through sustainable physical and digital experiences that create value for people and communities.
