Miranda joined Morris+Company in 2012 and currently oversees a number of mixed-use housing led schemes ranging in scale and within varied communities. In her role as Director she shares the responsibility for ongoing strategic management of the practice and attends weekly design reviews across all live projects.

 

She has extensive housing experience and worked on schemes ranging dramatically in scale and typology, including homeless shelters, affordable housing, specialist need housing, student housing, market and mixed-tenure housing, senior living and co-living. She has over 15 years of experience on residential projects and 10 years in estate regeneration.

 

Through in-house and external research (including RIBA research grants, university teaching, thought leadership writing and keynote speaking at the London Policy Forum for Housing), Miranda ensures the practice keeps up to date with the current and future needs of the housing market and its residents’ needs. This wider field of vision encourages critical debate within her team, leading to creation of more practical and innovative solutions to today’s housing crisis.

 

Miranda has taught an undergraduate unit at the Cass school at London Metropolitan University for three years, looking at new housing models to alleviate poor-quality housing offered to neglected user groups in London. She is now involved in student crits at a number of UK Universities.

 

She also sits on the Design Review Panel for Tower Hamlets, Hounslow, Harrow, Somerset and Taunton and previously at Merton; she is a client advisor for the RIBA and has participated in awards judging. Her various activities enable her to understand and learn from best practice examples within and outside the practice.
