Project in Practice: The King’s Cross Sports Hall – an all-timber building

The King's Cross Sports Hall team will present technical details of the design, engineering and construction of this all-timber building.

Cross Laminated Timber has been increasing in popularity as a material within construction methods, for its sustainable properties. CLT has many advantages and also several obstacles that need to be overcome, stigma, building insurance.

In this Project in Practice, we will discuss The King's Cross Sports Hall that was built with an all-timber structure.The building is currently used as a Construction Skills Centre. Its design and structure achieve a near zero carbon target and meet the RIBA 2030 target 10 years early.
