New London Architecture

Tall Storeys, Powered by PechaKucha

Talk

Thursday 08 August 2024
18:15 - 20:15

Join us for an exciting PechaKucha event showcasing the latest tall buildings proposed to reshape London's skyline, with exclusive insights from architects and planners.
Following the launch of our Tall Buildings report, this PechaKucha explores the upcoming tall buildings set to add to the city's iconic silhouette.

At this PechaKucha you’ll hear from architects, urban planners, and industry insiders as they unveil the latest skyscrapers that have just received planning approval and those that are in the proposal stages. These new additions promise to not only enhance the urban fabric of London but also set new benchmarks in design, sustainability, and innovation.

With an increasing demand for adaptable, sustainable, and inviting buildings, this PechKucha will explore how these projects employ innovative solutions, such as mixed-use spaces, urban greening, and public amenities, thereby setting new standards in the architectural landscape

The format, Pecha Kucha (ペチャクチャ), was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by the English architect Mark Dytham and has turned into a massive global celebration of design, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. The format makes presentations concise, keeps things moving at a rapid pace and holds its audience.
