NLA Co Founder Peter Murray is leading a small group to Prishtina the capital of Kosovo March 20th - 23th to attend the Share Architects Conference, to tour the capital and meet Mayor Perperim Rama, an architect who trained and worked in London, to hear about development in the city.
Peter Murray, along with Catherine Bos, co-founder with Ben van Berkel of UNStudio will be speaking at the conference. Those coming on the trip would be welcome to join discussion panels should they wish to. The Share Conference provides a real insight into the new architecture of south eastern Europe and take place regularly in Romania, Georgia, Albania, Greece and Turkey with future events in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
BIG Architects have just won the Theatre and Opera House competition. Andy Young, BIG partner from the London office says "It’s a great place. Lots of nice proprietor-owned shops and restaurants, not many euro-chain-stores. Great vibe. All the young people seem to be very optimistic about the future. Their economy, although small, is growing every year. The country is only 17-18 years old – and it has the zeitgeistiness of a teenager that just got their driving licence.”
Share Architects will organise the programme, and attendees will book their own flights, hotel, and transport.
If you would like to come please email Peter Murray at pgsmurray@mac.com.
