On the site of an old ball bearing factory the redevelopment seeks to provide 1000 new homes, new workspace and retail creating a unique district that complements the redevelopment of Gamlestaden
District Bearing is a former factory complex.
Its original purpose was the production of ball bearings for export across the world.
The redevelopment seeks to create a unique
district that adds, complements and strengthens the current urban development in the wider area of Gamlestaden.
Notable historic buildings will be retained and refurbished alongside the intervention of distinctive contemporary mixed-use buildings including 1000 new homes, that add variety and interest against the riverside setting.
The pandemic and the normalisation of home working meant that colleagues, collaborators, and the client felt they were able to communicate effectively and equally regardless on which country they were based.
