Developed by Tide Construction and manufactured offsite by Vision Modular Systems, 101 George Street is the world’s tallest modular residential building – rising to 44 and 38-storeys. The 136m development provides 546 apartments designed and built exclusively for rent for Greystar, with 109 homes offered as affordable housing. The site marks the gateway to the London Borough of Croydon’s comprehensive plans for a new ‘Cultural Quarter’ opposite East Croydon Station, and a high level of design ambition was required.

The redevelopment of the former Essex House at 100a George Street delivers the world’s tallest modular building, reusing a brownfield site that had been vacant for over 30 years. The building provides 546 new homes, of which 109 are offered as affordable housing, designed for build-to-rent provider Greystar. As a Build to Rent development residents enjoy shared amenities that include a podium garden, lounges and a co-working space around the arcade, roof top terraces at the top of each tower with , gyms, residents’ lounges, private dining rooms and event rooms.
