With demand outstripping supply – what are the policy and project innovations that are coming forward to unlock these developments?

With the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) recording that there were over 374,000 full-time students in London between 2021/22 – how are we keeping up with this demand for Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA)?

The London Plan forecasts that student numbers will reach 350,000 by 2041/42 – with current figures already breaching this prediction, how can the industry ensure that we deliver affordable living accommodation for students? At the same time, relieving pressure on other parts of London’s strained housing market, such as the private rented sector (PRS) and Built-to-Rent.

The Higher Education Policy Institute’s (HEPI) ‘Demand for Higher Education to 2035’ 2020 report predicts that the number of students choosing the Capital as their study destination will only grow. With demand already outstripping PBSA supply – what are the policy and project innovations that are unlocking these developments?

This webinar provides an update on the PBSA sector as we discuss the opportunities and challenges of delivery, alongside spotlighting innovative projects.
