Taleen is an American-registered architect and Passive House Consultant based in London who applies a holistic approach to tackling the complex environmental and social issues relating to the built environment. She is devoted to promoting healthy, low-energy architectural solutions that strengthen local communities, economies, and biodiversity.
Her work includes research and analysis of building material reuse as a method for reducing our industry’s negative environmental impact, with a proposed circular working method of “Form Follows Availability.” The research includes reviewing local waste streams, identifying and evaluating potential building materials and their applications, and considering material life cycles and chemical contents. Her peer-reviewed work has been published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, in addition to a range of web-based articles.
She works as a Thrive Project Manager at
Chetwoods, advising on sustainable and circular practice and implementation both within the firm and for external clients. She is also a Coordinator of the
ACAN Circular Economy group and is a part of two UKGBC and BRE circular economy-related task groups.
