Chetwoods

Chetwoods is an award-winning architecture, masterplanning and design practice founded by Laurie Chetwood in 1988. With studios in the UK and internationally, we deliver transformative projects across the industrial and logistics, data centre, residential, commercial, retail, infrastructure and regeneration sectors.

We are recognised for creating commercially successful, environmentally responsible and future-ready places. Our approach combines design excellence, sustainability leadership and digital innovation through three interconnected strands of the practice: Studio, Thrive and Works.

Chetwoods has built a reputation for shaping some of the UK's most ambitious logistics parks, data centres, commercial developments, regeneration projects and strategic masterplans, pioneering new approaches to sustainable design, industrial intensification, co-location and employment land optimisation. We work at every scale, from national infrastructure and strategic growth studies to complex urban regeneration schemes and high-performance buildings.

Research and innovation are embedded within our practice. Working alongside leading universities, industry bodies and private-sector partners, we are helping to drive the transition to a low-carbon built environment through industry-leading work on net zero carbon buildings, structural timber, material reuse, digital twins, artificial intelligence and circular economy principles.

London has been at the forefront of much of our work. We have collaborated with the Greater London Authority, London boroughs and major landowners to develop design guidance, strategic studies and development proposals that respond to the competing demands of economic growth, housing delivery, industrial capacity, digital infrastructure and environmental performance. Our work has helped shape emerging thinking around urban logistics, data centres, industrial design and the future of employment land across the capital.

We are equally passionate about the reinvention of existing places. From brownfield regeneration and adaptive reuse to retrofit and heritage-led renewal, we unlock the potential of underutilised sites and buildings to create lasting economic, social and environmental value.

Our infrastructure, transport and digital infrastructure projects challenge conventional thinking by placing people, experience and place at the centre of design. From transport interchanges and stations to next-generation data centres, civic infrastructure and strategic development frameworks, we create solutions that are functional, memorable and transformative.

Across every sector, Chetwoods combines strategic insight, technical expertise and creative ambition to deliver projects that support economic growth, strengthen communities and contribute positively to the environment.
