Join us as we present our new report Circular London: building a renewable city, looking at how circular London is today, the key challenges, and exploring best practices and initiatives that are pushing boundaries.
Following NLA’s Zero Carbon London (2020) and Resilient London (2021) reports, and Ecocity World Summit London 2023, Circular London report looks at strategies and case studies that make the best use of new low-carbon and recycled materials, push the boundaries on long life loose fit, make efficient use of energy and of modern methods of construction, and rethink waste management.
The Mayor has set ambitious targets for London to be a zero-carbon city by 2030. In the 2020 NLA Zero Carbon London report, we offer an unprecedented insight into where the built environment industry is currently in the fight against climate change, and the measures that need to be prioritised to achieve this goal. If we are to achieve carbon neutrality our priorities must include retaining buildings and infrastructure while making them more environmentally sustainable and replacing the end-of-life concept with re-use, re-purpose and recycle.
A circular economy is possible, but it requires a transformational change in how buildings are designed, built, managed, and deconstructed.
In this event, we present the Circular London: building a renewable city report, that looks at how circular London is today, the key barriers and challenges, and explores best practices and initiatives that are pushing boundaries.
