Industrial and Logistics half day conference: meeting London's growing demand

Half-day conference

Friday 08 July 2022
08:30 - 13:00

This conference will hear from key experts in the field addressing the priorities needed for a sector that is rapidly growing.
The industrial and logistic industry has witnessed an extraordinary amount of growth in recent years. Knight Frank reported that take up of units over 50,00s q ft in 2021 was 27% higher than the previous year. The sector’s acceleration in demand can be tied to the pandemic with a rise in changing consumer trends, however, this is predicated to only continue. Yet can London accommodate this rapid growth? As a built environment sector, the call for government and local authorities to recognise and respond to the growing demands of the sector is paramount. How can we be prioritising Industrial and Logistics when planning our cities?

London is in a critical position, with increasing cross sector debates for limited land use. Therefore, it pushes for different sectors to think collaboratively about planning and design. With the industrial and logistics industry in continuous debate surrounding key priorities such as co-location, last mile logistics, developing shorter supply chains and expanding ecommerce fulfilment capabilities the push for a unified road map for the industrial and logistics sector is apparent. To meet the growing needs of Londoner’s, how can we be prioritising Industrial and Logistics into our built environment schemes?

This conference will hear from key experts in the field addressing the priorities needed for a sector that is rapidly growing and innovating and how supply can begin matching demand.

*Please note the date change from 24 June due to railway strikes.*
