NLA presents a debate on a key question facing the industry: rebuilding or retrofitting?
In order to achieve net zero targets, the built environment industry is now faced with a crucial question for existing buildings: rebuild or retrofit?
Combining technical, environmental and economic challenges, reducing buildings emissions is key and complex. In the context of the climate crisis, retrofitting appears to be the best answer, but is it always the right answer? Can rebuilding be more sustainable than retrofit? What impact will current case studies have on the built environment sector?
NLA Debates use a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: aye or nay? We pose a motion to a set of speakers with contradicting views on a burning issue. Speakers then present a case for either, with the audience ultimately voting to reject or approve the motion. Join the event to hear experts responding for and against this crucial debate.
