Firestone LDN | A West Cross Development

Planning Granted

An Art Deco inspired flexible distribution, logistics and warehouse scheme, providing BREEAM Excellent rated intensification of industrial uses for the iconic Firestone site in Brentford.

Sensitive placemaking was key to the design approach to a high profile super-prime industrial unit. It required a modern and innovative response to a site with an iconic history as the former 1928 Art Deco Firestone Building. The design took historic references and conserved some of the original features of the Art Deco history of the site, while addressing aspiration for an intensification of development on the site that targeted BREEAM excellent rating.

This project is featured as a project in RePower London: Infrastructure for Growth. The report, exhibition, and accompanying online project directory examine the critical infrastructure needed to support London's growth and resilience. We explore the role of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable design in shaping the city's future, with a focus on ensuring that London remains fit-for-purpose, equitable, and competitive in the long term.
