Join this NLA Study Tour to hear from AFK Studios and Lendlease about the Turing Building’s workspaces, hospitality and amenity offer. 

The Turing Building is a mixed-use office building designed and delivered by AFK for Lendlease’s workplace district, Stratford Cross, and the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The site is historically a crossroads for local trade and transport. The area has seen significant urban development over the centuries, transitioning from an industrial powerhouse to a vibrant cultural and residential district, precipitated by the redevelopment of the area for the 2012 Summer Olympics. 

 

Spanning across 21 floors, including 19 floors of Grade A workspace, the building also boasts an Everyman cinema, restaurants facing the public spaces, dedicated amenity floor, cafés and social spaces to infuse the surrounding developments with activity and rich vibrancy as the estate grows and matures. 

 

You will hear about the ambition to create an exemplary commercial building that inspires collaboration and supports new ways of working via a side-core configuration. Lendlease’s brief was to reinterpret the context, to which AFK responded by relying upon the rich industrial heritage as the grounding principle for a renewed architectural language. This was done partly by evolving the existing masterplan’s curtain walling CCF (Closed Cavity Façade) system, which ensured the Turing Building was the most affordable office building in London last year.
