Do cultural venues require a different green strategy? Join this event to explore the challenges of retrofitting theatres, museums and cultural venues and their flexible and operational needs in the long-term.

How is the design of theatres, museums and cultural venues adapting to the climate emergency?

Theatres and museums require flexible and adaptable spaces that can be used for different needs over an extended period of time, whilst accommodating large storage and back of house units that support the needs of their 24hr workforce. From the infrastructure of the building to individual stage and exhibition design, embedding sustainability into the design briefs is key to their adaptability. Carrying out sustainability audits, monitoring energy performance and sourcing local materials and supplychains also play an important role in the overall environmental performance of these buildings.
