Redbridge is an outer borough in north-east London with a growing, culturally rich and well educated community of over 288,000, which is experiencing significant population growth.
The projected figure for the year 2030 is 365,000. In order to accommodate the level of population growth projected for the next 15 years, Redbridge Council’s Core Strategy, adopted in 2008, is now being reviewed.
The draft Redbridge Local Plan 2015 - 2030 proposes a sustainable growth model to deliver growth through the identification of five broad Investment Areas. Each is based on established town centres and transport nodes that could support a range of land uses, helping to revitalise town centres and local employment and leisure opportunities, whilst also providing new community facilities and homes.
