Highgate East is a new, 78 bed mental health inpatient facility for the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust on the Whittington Hospital site. The facility includes adult acute and older adult wards with therapy, support and administration space.

Highgate East combines services for mental and physical health, community facilities and offices within a building that enhances its urban context with quality, human scale design. It creates an environment of inclusiveness that allows service users to feel part of the community and not shut away from it. This is supported with active frontages that encourage a destigmatised approach to mental health and enhanced with landscaped public realm spaces.
