About NLA

NLA is London’s built environment community, bringing together the people and organisations who shape the city.

We believe that no single organisation can shape a city alone. Better cities depend on better relationships – across disciplines, sectors, communities and generations – and on creating the space for different perspectives, ideas and expertise to come together.

For more than 20 years, NLA has played that role for London. We connect the people who plan, fund, design, build, operate and influence the city, creating a trusted and independent space to share knowledge, build relationships and work together around London’s future.

From our home at The London Centre – London’s civic home for the built environment – and through our membership, research, events, exhibitions and programmes, we convene the conversations that matter and connect our community with new ideas, people and opportunities.

Our perspective reaches beyond the capital. We connect London with cities, expertise and opportunities across the UK and around the world – sharing what London has learned and bringing global thinking back to the city.

Because cities are not shaped by individual organisations, professions or projects. They are shaped by people working together around a shared purpose.

London Festival of Architecture

The world’s largest annual architecture festival. Every June 1-30 the festival offers a lively and diverse programme of 500+ public events, engaging over 800,000 people a year. Visit the LFA website.

Funding & Management

NLA is an independent, member-supported organisation. All funding comes from membership fees, ticket sales for paid events and sponsorship of our programme. Our membership is drawn from a wide range of private and public sector organisations with an interest in London’s built environment.

Space Hire - Events and Exhibitions

NLA has a gallery, meeting and event space for hire at The London Centre.

Events

The City of London Model at The London Centre in the Guildhall is a great backdrop for events.
