Director of Projects

Cadogan

Jane Henshaw
Jane has worked in the property sector throughout her career, largely leading on the adaptation and conversion of beautiful, often historic, buildings in London and the UK - ensuring that investment into the built environment produced both financial and wider community benefits over the short, medium and longer term.

Cadogan is one of London’s ‘great estates’, a 300 year old family owned property company concentrated across 93 acres in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, comprising a mixed portfolio of residential, retail, hospitality and office properties – alongside concert halls, theatres, galleries, churches and schools. The business is recognised for a consistently innovative approach to the management of its property business, driven constantly by an ambition to couple its own long-term success to a positive contribution to community and a more sustainable city.

As Director of Projects, Jane is responsible for a wide range of development projects, with a pipeline worth $600m over the next 5 years. It includes major investment to further energise two of the world’s most famous ‘high streets’ - Sloane Street and the King’s Road - in addition to landmark hospitality projects and continual investment into a large residential portfolio. This often includes retrofitting sustainable solutions to period properties – preserving the neighbourhood’s rich history and charm while ensuring its future vitality.

Jane has also been central to creating Cadogan’s ambitious new sustainability strategy, ‘Chelsea 2030’, which clearly sets out how Cadogan plan to reduce environmental impacts through clear targets on waste management, water use, green infrastructure and emissions – including a roadmap to become carbon net-zero over the next decade.

Jane works closely with various stakeholders, including the local borough (the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea), local residents and adjacent landowners, to ensure that the strongest solutions are developed for upcoming schemes to maximise returns from both a financial and community perspective.

Most recently Jane has been made an Associate Fellow of the University College of Estate Management.
