Julia is an Architect and the Head of Construction Standards at the Department for Education (DfE). She joined the DfE Design Team in 2021 with over twenty years’ experience designing and building school buildings and outdoor environments for the public and private sector. Her role includes supporting central programme delivery and leading on the technical development of DfE design standards and guidance to support brilliant education and care outcomes through an education estate that is safe, sustainable, suitable, and sufficiently sized.
