May Yu is the Vice President of Real Estate & Economic Development at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, where she leads real estate, planning, and infrastructure initiatives for New York City’s third largest business district, including the development and implementation of the Downtown Brooklyn Public Realm Action Plan. Prior to this role, May served as the Director of Neighborhood Planning at the New York City Department of Small Business Services and as a Senior Project Manager in Development at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. May has a background in community and economic development, and has worked on mixed-use masterplans in New York, Beijing, and Rio de Janeiro. She is an alum of the University of Chicago and Columbia University, and a Fellow of the Urban Design Forum.
