Richard is a Co-Founder of Don’t Waste Buildings, the voluntary campaign group advocating in the UK, and internationally, for policy clarity, financial incentives, and sensible regulations to make retrofit the preferred approach for developers, helping to decarbonise the built environment. The group has over 2,000 members on LinkedIn, as well as chapters in London, West Midlands, North West, Scotland and Australia (Victoria). 

 

Richard is also an Ambassador and the immediate past Chair (2020-2024) of the Institute of Directors Property and Built Environment Group, where he focuses on ESG and best practice for directors of built environment companies, especially SMEs. 

 

In his private consultancy, Abyss Global, he advises architecture, engineering, and construction firms on international business strategy and development.
