Active Travel Summit

Half-day conference

Friday 25 November 2022
09:00 - 12:30

What are London’s active travel priorities and the impact of its development on the street post-pandemic?
This year’s NLA Active Travel Summit looks at the post-pandemic legacy. Two years after the start of the pandemic, as we are embracing a new normal, the issue of active mobility is increasingly topical. This is evidenced in the January launch of Active Travel England, the new government agency charged with promoting cycling and walking; or with the introduction of the e-scooter trial.

This evolution in the travel patterns and diversity in transport modes play a crucial part in future street infrastructure. How can we ensure that our street is for everyone? How can the city's density create breathing spaces to encourage active and pleasant travel? By rethinking delivery methods on a city-wide scale, and in particular using the Thames, would it then be possible to redesign the streets to facilitate active travel?

Following the presentations, take part in the discussion between the public and private sector voices on current active mobility challenges.

We reserve a number of free tickets for cycling and walking organisations. Please contact laura.bernard@nla.london if you would like to enquire about these spaces.
