Join us for this webinar with industry professionals and local authorities to discuss the role of transport infrastructure in developing community identity across the capital.
As UK transport policy moves towards a more sustainable model that is supported by digital enablement of the transport system and the universal provision of electric vehicles, questions remain around how a modernised transport system will impact our urban communities.
Yet London has already been witness to transformative new projects in our road & rail systems, with the completion of Brent Cross West station as a leading example, as the first major new mainline station in London in over a decade and the winner of the Transport & Infrastructure Award at the New London Awards 2024.
The station connects central London with the new park town of Brent Cross in just 12 minutes and includes housing alongside the station buildings, as well as better local connectivity, with a public overbridge that provides 24-hour access for the first time in 150 years. By situating the rail station to serve both existing and new housing developments, the project has enhanced connectivity and supported the growth of a vibrant, sustainable community.
In this webinar we will be looking to future developments of this kind, and other examples of new rail & road proposals and transformations that have not only increased mobility for communities in outer London but allowed them to develop a whole new identity.
