Join a live global forum as London and New York tackle one of the defining challenges of our time: delivering the homes our growing cities urgently need. As part of the NLA’s Cities programme, this City Dialogue brings experts together from both cities to share insights on delivering enough and high-quality, affordable housing in the midst of political shifts.
Each city will introduce case studies that showcase innovative strategies to alleviate the housing crisis such as public-private partnerships, zoning amendments, and procurement reforms. The discussion will emphasise the importance of long-term strategies and the critical role of the public sector to meet housing needs, with the differing approaches offering rich ground for learning and exchange between the two cities.
The NLA Cities programme fosters cross-city collaboration, enabling London to learn from other cities and offer its expertise in city-making to global leaders. This City Dialogue also brings together learnings on housing delivery for the NLA’s upcoming insight study on ‘Homes for Londoners: A new agenda for public housing.’
