Join this study tour of Paddington Square to discover how the area around world-famous Paddington Station was transformed into a vibrant new
Paddington Square features shops, cafes and public spaces including a 1.35-acre piazza displaying contemporary public art. It also includes a new, step free entrance to Paddington Station’s Bakerloo tube line and an enlarged ticket hall for the Bakerloo, Circle and District lines.
At the heart of the project is a striking 18-storey mixed-use development designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW), offering 350,000 sqft of Grade A office space and 33 retail units. WSP worked closely with the architect to engineer the building’s unique glass and steel structure, which appears to float above the ground.
The site presented several unique challenges. From bringing RPBW’s vision to life, to using cutting-edge engineering solutions to achieve an impressive BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for energy efficiency.
Explore how this pioneering project has helped to revitalise a previously neglected part of London’s cityscape, while improving access to public transport.
Please note the capacity for this event is very limited and therefore tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis, with a maximum of 1 per organisation.
