Baylis Road Pocket Park

Built

Baylis Road pock park transforms an unused plot of land at the heart of Waterloo into an engaging, sustainable and biodiverse green space improving the local environment and community.

Baylis Road pocket park transforms an unused plot of land at heart of Waterloo into an engaging, sustainable, and biodiverse green space. We used modular timber planters which weave and undulate across the site to frame a new pathway, brining people into the pocket park and closer to nature.
The scheme was brought to life by a small community team, including local businesses to supply the materials. We held a number of community planting days to deliver the finishing touches to the park.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
