Blackwall Yard

Planning Granted

Proposals for a vibrant mixed-use development at Blackwall Yard. Our vision is to create a new neighbourhood here that respects the history of the area and brings to life this part of the Thames front

As part of a pioneering approach to active, shared and environmentally-friendly mobility at the site, Hadley has developed a Sustainable Transport Hub for residents and visitors aimed at reducing the need to own and use a private car. The hub will be positioned in the centre of the development and will become a focal point for the transport needs of residents and the immediate surrounding district and community. The Hub is designed to bring together services and features including: shared bikes and e-scooters, Brompton bike hire, e-cargo bike rental, discounted use of leased bikes, a café and a bike repair workshop, bike stands, information pillars and outdoor water bottle filling station. Electric car club cars will also be provided for the residents and information about these services will be displayed at the Hub.

NEW LONDON AWARDS 2021

Winner in the UNBUILT category
Blackwall Yard will transform the last remaining waterside regeneration site in East London, providing 898 homes (35% affordable), primary school, a waterside pub, a new river bus station, pier and a completely revitalised Listed Graving Dock to cater for wild swimmers, performers and local pop-ups. It opens a section of the Thames Path that has been closed off for 40 years and offers genuine regeneration to location which has long been overlooked. It will fill the missing link of outdoor destinations, public space, retail & community facilities, all curated around its Thames-side setting.
