Located on Paddington Basin, Brunel Building opens up the previously inaccessible Grand Union Canal and was fully let before completion by companies such as Sony Pictures and the Premier League.
The Paddington Basin site of the Brunel Building presented significant challenges, immediately adjacent to the 200 year old canal and above two Bakerloo Line tunnels. Working with Arup engineering, the innovative exoskeleton structure mitigates those challenges while providing column-free floorplates and 20% shading to the façade, helping to reduce energy demand. The project also included significant public realm improvements and provision of hospitality spaces on the ground level.
