North Cator Park transforms 3.5h of an existing underused parkland into a biodiverse park for people and wildlife, offering new social places for the local community to grow.
Drawing inspiration from the lost river that gives the area its name, the Lower Kid Brooke, the multi-award winning Cator Park provides green and blue infrastructure for nature and residents to enjoy in a rich mosaic of habitats. In the north of the park, a destination play space with climbing features, dry swales and rock escarpments provides the source of the river. This gives way to a flat, meandering water feature richly enhanced with aquatic planting, species-rich meadow, and tree planting.
