New London Architecture

Culture Palace, Enfield Town

Built

The Culture Palace at Palace Gardens Shopping Centre is a temporary cultural playhouse that hosts exhibitions, performances, children’s books, creative activities, workshops and a mindfulness café.

Culture Palace brings together local cultural and creative enterprises under one roof in an inviting colourful meanwhile space designed by Dallas-Pierce-Quintero for Enfield Council and Palace Gardens Shopping Centre. The Dugdale Centre, Museum of Enfield and EnFood sustainable café along with Pickled Pepper, a North London independent children’s bookshop and theatre company will curate and activate the space together for the next 12 months.

Together with a second Palace Pop-Up (Artist Hive Studios will open a further temporary creative space in October), Culture Palace will enliven the town centre as a new cultural heart while the Dugdale Centre continues to be used as an important base for NHS COVID-19 vaccinations.
