Earls Court Masterplan

Proposed

Earls Court is one of London’s most significant regeneration opportunities, transforming the Exhibition Centre into a bold, landscape-led neighbourhood that brings wonder to everyday life.

Earls Court is one of London’s most significant regeneration opportunities, transforming the former Exhibition Centres site - once a £2bn a year economic engine - into a bold, landscape led neighbourhood that brings wonder back to everyday life. Cleared in 2015 and dormant for almost a decade, the 40 acre site is being reimagined by Hawkins\Brown and Studio Egret West with SLA Landscape Architecture for The Earls Court Development Company (ECDC) as a global exemplar of sustainable, inclusive urban development.

The masterplan will deliver c. 4,000 homes, 12,000 new jobs and 300,000 sq. ft of retail, dining, leisure and cultural space, set within 20 acres of public realm and open green space. A 4.5 acre urban park sits at the heart of a network of Exhibition Gardens, public squares, water features and green corridors, reconnecting surrounding neighbourhoods and restoring nature at scale. The landscape framework stitches the site into its context, linking to Brompton Cemetery through a new ecological corridor.

Earls Court is structured around four place pillars - nature, innovation, culture and neighbourhood - ensuring social, environmental and economic sustainability are embedded from the outset. Homes are designed for all stages of life, reflecting London’s diversity through a mix of tenures, typologies and building scales.

Cultural venues and live event spaces celebrate the site’s heritage, while innovation campuses, maker spaces and affordable workspaces support future focused employment and creativity.

With a fossil fuel free, all electric energy strategy and ambition to go beyond net zero, Earls Court sets a blueprint for resilient, climate positive city making that delivers long term value for London and its communities.
