Ferry Lane prior to works commencing was not a particularly welcoming or safe environment for pedestrians or cyclists.  The road felt very urban despite being connected to green spaces such as Walthamstow Wetlands, the Lee Valley Park and the Paddock Nature Reserve.  LB Haringey undertook works from Mill Mead Road junction to the borough boundary which included raised cycle lanes, SUDs, new trees, planting, bespoke street lighting, artwork features along the route with the theme of the Wetland Environment and the transition from the District Centre at Tottenham Hale to the Walthamstow Wetlands
