LLDC Employment Space Study

Proposed

AECOM, in partnership with We Made That, studied different employment space typologies across the relevant use classes in the area with the aim of providing guidance for future development

AECOM, in partnership with architectural practice We Made That, studied different employment space typologies across the relevant use classes in the area with the aim of providing guidance for future development in three areas where SPD’s will be drafted.

The study provided detailed guidance on how employment premises reflective of then-emerging typologies could be re-provided in a dense, mixed-use environment undergoing rapid change.

The analysis of the employment typologies included technical specifications required for its provision both as a standalone development and as part of mixed-use development. Typologies ranged from standard office and industrial uses to spaces for start-ups, creative/artist spaces, service yards and others. Measures to mitigate the impact of employment uses on residential were detailed.
