New London Architecture

New Union Wharf

Built

New Union Wharf is an estate regeneration on the Thames bank, on the Isle of Dogs. It consists of 399 modern energy efficient new homes, 60% affordable (social rent & shared ownership)

New Union Wharf is not only an ambitious estate regeneration scheme, but a prime example of quality public space and architecture paying an homage to the area’s history and heritage. This is primarily reflected in the landscape, which is dominated by the River Thames, with sweeping views across the water to the O2 Arena in North Greenwich. Upon completion, the developers L&Q and Hill Group also commissioned a modern artwork on the Thames Wall, which celebrates the Thames, London’s and the community's resilience through the ages.
