Regenerating spaces in Waterman's Green

Built

Project Centre, with Wandsworth Borough Council, transformed the previously narrow and overlooked space of Waterman’s Green into a sustainable, attractive, and safe community hub.

Project Centre transformed the previously narrow and overlooked space of Waterman’s Green into a sustainable, safe, and thriving community hub.

Our multi-disciplinary team reinvigorated the footpath by introducing planting, furniture, art, and sustainable amenities, as well as prioritising pedestrians and cyclists over vehicular traffic. Refurbishing Waterman’s Green rejuvenated the entire stretch of the riverside walk, creating an additional green space.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.

This project is featured as a project in RePower London: Infrastructure for Growth. The report, exhibition, and accompanying online project directory examine the critical infrastructure needed to support London's growth and resilience. We explore the role of innovation, collaboration, and sustainable design in shaping the city's future, with a focus on ensuring that London remains fit-for-purpose, equitable, and competitive in the long term.
