Proposed
RightSizer is a sustainable MMC Strategy aspiring to the highest levels of environmental, social and economic sustainability and offers a vision and guide to designing buildings for 2030 and beyond.
A collaborative project with the UKGBC, CIRCuIT and Futureground, RightSizer sets a roadmap to circular MMC on large-scale developments and targets whole lifecycle embodied carbon emissions of 300kgCO2e/m2, closely aligning with LETI 2030 guidance. This is achieved through a structure designed entirely for disassembly and reuse, with standardised components, interoperable connections and digital passports to enable buildings to be reconfigured for many uses long into the future, and is maximised by locally manufactured components and new recycling technologies such as low-carbon cement.
