Shortlisted in the ENVIRONMENTAL PRIZE and the HOUSING category
The first scheme to be delivered in the Mayor’s Abbey Wood, Plumstead and Thamesmead Housing Zone, creating 66 new affordable homes and kick-starts Peabody’s ambitious programme of regeneration in the area. Utilising a previously unused site, The Reach reinvigorates an existing local centre with a new sense of place. Its distinctive curved facade creates a new civic space, encouraging further regeneration and investment in the area. The building is orientated around a south facing communal garden, projecting balconies provide extensions to living spaces of the dual-aspect flats above
